Pan-Fried Lion's Mane Mushroom "Steaks" Recipe:

Ingredients:

Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup avocado oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon coconut aminos (instead of soy sauce)

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Mushroom:

  • 8-10 oz Lion's Mane mushroom

  • Cooking spray or additional avocado oil for frying

Instructions:

1. Preparing the Lion's Mane Mushroom:

  • Carefully clean the Lion's Mane mushroom with a damp cloth or a brush to remove any dirt. Avoid soaking it in water as it can become too soggy.

2. Marinade:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the avocado oil, minced garlic, coconut aminos, dried thyme, Old Bay Seasoning, garlic salt, salt, and pepper.

3. Marinating the Mushroom:

  • Slice the Lion's Mane mushroom into 1-inch thick "steaks."

  • Place the mushroom steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them.

  • Gently coat each steak with the marinade, ensuring even coverage.

  • Let the mushroom steaks marinate for at least 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.

4. Cooking:

  • Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. You can lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of avocado oil.

  • Carefully place the marinated Lion's Mane mushroom steaks into the hot skillet.

  • Pan-fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they develop a golden-brown crust and become tender on the inside.

5. Serving:

  • Serve the pan-fried Lion's Mane mushroom "steaks" hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
